Just a Reminder ORCA Families, 

The Rochester Swim Club ORCAS is hosting three very special swim meets in February and March. The first meet is our annual President's Day Swim Meet--A Times, February 17 -19, 2012 next is the annual Special Olympics Swim Meet, Sunday, February 26, 2012 and finally the extremely important A/B Finals Meet on March 2-4, 2012. 

Thank you for covering Hospitality, Concessions, and Meet Preparation with your timely sign ups.  We still have over 30 volunteer slots to fill under TIMERS and MEET ADMINISTRATION for the President's Day Meet.  We definitely need those of you that haven't checked out the SignUp Genius website to do so ASAP.  There is an expectation of volunteerism whether or not your child(ren) has/have qualified to swim that weekend.   Please review the available opportunities and sign up for the the number of shifts that is expected of your family.  

As per our continued ORCA policy, there are a requested number of volunteer shifts for each family for all our hosted meets.  All ORCA families are needed to volunteer either prior to, during, and/or following the meet. To make is easier for you to find the shifts that accommodate your schedule, we have built six separate sign-up tools for you to use.   These tools are located on our volunteer website, SignUp Genius.   In the next week or so, we will be directly contacting families who have not yet found a volunteer option.

Please follow these steps to sign-up.  If you haven’t already done so, create your account in SignUp Genius, review the job descriptions located within each of the separate tools and choose the volunteer opportunities that will work best for you and your family.

2. Click on “Find a Sign Up”

4.  Seven separate sign up options should be on display for you to review.

President’s Day Meet – CONCESSIONS (almost full)
President’s Day Meet – HOSPITALITY (almost full)
President’s Day Meet – MEET ADMINISTRATION (help needed)
President’s Day Meet – MEET PREP, SET-UP & TEAR DOWN (almost full)
President’s Day Meet – OFFICIALS
President’s Day Meet – TIMERS -- It is super easy to be a timer!!!  HELP needed; can't host a meet without timers!

The Special Olympics Volunteer Sign Up is also found through this access.  However, volunteering for this event is optional. 

5.  Sign up for your number of shifts.

Families of Senior 1, 2 or 3 swimmers = 3 shifts
Families of Junior 1 or 2, Age 1 and Orca 1 swimmers = 2 shifts
Families of Age 2 or 3, Orca 2 or 3 swimmers = 1 shift
Masters Swimmers = 1 shift

Please note that the expected number of shifts per family for A/B Finals in March is expected to be less.  The sign up tool for that particular meet should be available sometime in mid-February. 

We have a long history of hosting extremely well-run meets. Let’s continue that tradition.
