John is the primary coach for the Senior groups and Junior 1.

John Bradley joins the Orca staff as coach of the Senior Programs in April of 2008 following a career as one of the most successful coaches in Wisconsin. He has been a integral part of winning programs at every level of swimming during his 15 years as a coach. John's former age group team, the Waukesha Express, won 5 consecutive state titles in Wisconsin from the 2006 Short Course Season to the Spring 2008 Short Course season. Prior to that he was also a member of the coaching staffs at the winning programs of the Elmbrook Swim Club and the Madison Aquatic Club (now Badger Aquatics Club.)

John's swimmers have set over 15 Wisconsin State Records and have posted over 50 National Age Group (NAG) Qualifying Times. In his 5 year tenure with Express, his athletes set or broke over 100 team records. He brings to Rochester a wide range of coaching experience as he has worked with swimmers from Novice to Olympic Trials qualifiers. John was named Wisconsin Age Group Coach of the Year for the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons. He served as a coach on 6 different Zone teams for Wisconsin. John has also been active in the Wisconsin LSC, serving as Age Group Chair, Camps Coordinator, and on the Board of Review. An American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) Lifetime member, he has achieved a Level 3 Certification and is in the process of obtaining his Level 4 certification. In September of 2008, John will be a speaker at the ASCA World Clinic in Las Vegas, NV. His presentation will concern the incorporation of video techniques into swimming programs.

John graduated from JK Mullen Prep School in Denver, CO. He received his BA in Political Science and Studio Art in 1991. Originally planning on pursuing an MFA in Art Metals at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, he began coaching swimming in 1992 and hasn't looked back since!

John brings to the Orca Staff an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and compassionate approach to coaching. He enjoys helping and seeing athletes through the process of achieving their goals and is excited to be a part of the Rochester Swim Club Orcas!
